beaTunes 1.2.6 is out

beaTunes LogoRight when we thought, that we had fixed all the issues caused by Leopard, it turns out that Leopard's version of CoreAudio tends to crash on files it decoded just fine in its Tiger incarnation. So this is why we just released beaTunes 1.2.6. It works around all the known CoreAudio issues and features an improved Windows uninstaller. We also did some additional cosmetic fixes specifically for Leopard.

Enjoy!

OS X 10.4.11 solves iTunes Plus-CoreAudio problems

beaTunes LogoIt looks like the recent OS X 10.4.11 update solved a couple of issues with opening iTunes Plus files with CoreAudio. Previously, CoreAudio APIs were often not able to even open an iTunes Plus file even though no DRM was employed. For beaTunes users this was pretty annoying, since they had to fall back to a not as fast QuickTime implementation of the same code, that had to be manually enabled.

beaTunes LogoWe just released beaTunes 1.2.5. This release fixes a couple of Leopard UI issues. Furthermore the delayed commit progress dialog now refreshes correctly, the recently-added-songs logic was improved and unnecessary fallbacks to QuickTime are now avoided. Mac users should definitely update.

Enjoy!

Leopard UI issues

beaTunes LogoWe and some of you have noticed that beaTunes' UI doesn't look just right on Leopard. Specifically, the table headers are blank and the inspection titles are unreadable. We have already fixed these issues, but the release is simply not out yet. It is planned for Wednesday, 11/14/07.

If you want to try out the current OS X development snapshot in which these issues are fixed before next Wednesday, please download it from here. And yes, please keep in mind, it's a development snapshot, not a real release.

beaTunes 1.2.4 released

beaTunes LogoWe have just released beaTunes 1.2.4. This release is a minor update that addresses an issue on Windows. Sometimes beaTunes wouldn't analyze songs with cyrillic letters in their names. This issue has been fixed.

iPod Touch ad

Please excuse the shameless posting of an ad for the iPod Touch But... I just love it! Great soundtrack, great visuals, great story.

All in all simply a great package - an advertisers dream!

BTW, the song is Music Is My Hot, Hot Sex by the Brazilian band Cansei de Ser Sexy ("tired of being sexy" - CSS). If you're interested in seeing them live - they're touring the UK in December.
